  • Purpose: To hone the Spanish dialect and spread common knowledge about Latinx/o/é culture to college students

  • Target Group:

    • Ages 17-22 years old

  • Sponsoring Committee: Tufts University, Romance Department

  • Funds Granted: $2K

“Spanish, as any language, is a bridge to another culture.”

Perhaps, with this in mind, we can reconcile cultural differences and provide a foundation for acceptance and innovation for the social good of this nation. Some will start person by person, and others, in colleges like this one.

SPN21 — Composition & Conversation I

Course Description

The course combines written and oral practice of Spanish through oral reports, compositions, class discussions, and debates on assigned topics, articles, songs, short literary works, and films. It offers a review of more advanced grammatical structures to achieve greater accuracy.

Conducted in Spanish.

Outcomes:

~25 college students passed the SPN 21 class with an excellent idea of what the Latino/x/é language and culture entails outside of the United States
